About My Business

I'm Anthony E. Conway the owner of Caring Cars a used car dealership that specializes in affordable used vehicle sales. Caring Cars was establish to help make ownership affordable to low income buyers that are effected by the escalating prices of used vehicles. The dealership is designed to help ensure that buyers receive fair and honest treatment which is not the trademark of many used car dealerships. The dealership partners with the Cars 4 Columbia Donated Car Program that serves transportation challenged low-income residents and families in Columbia and Boone County.

When did you receive a SEED Grant and how has it impacted your business?

We received our grant In March of 2020 at a important time in the development of the business. The grant was vital to our ability to repair our sales and program vehicles. Without this component we likey would not have progressed due to the high cost of outsourcing repairs. It was not only the financial support but the support and mentoring of Mr. James Whitt that motivated me to escalate establishing the dealership and the program. His effort were more valuable to me then the grant but between the two lead us to double down on focusing to serve disadvantage transportation challenged residents and families in the community.

What does being nominated for one of our M/WBE awards mean to you?

It means that our effort it make a difference in the community have to a degree been fruitful and the mere fact that we are still here showcases and highlights the importance and the value of the grant that provided a vital lifeline at startup is a major factor why.
